Natural dyes produce colours that are far superior to chemical dyes. All dyes are of plant origin except Cochineal. The mordant used is in all cases Alum. As far as possible, the colours are true to the samples shown, and any variation will be slight. All colours are reasonably fast to light and washing, though some fading can occur with prolonged exposure to strong sunlight. Any overall fading will be subtle and harmonious, as with old carpets & textiles.
